Florida Travel League (FTL) is a unique and exciting bowling league that bowls once a month throughout the Central Florida area from August to May for $40 per month per bowler. FTL is a 90% of 220 handicap league that consist of 40 teams (4 people). The league bowls on the third Saturday of each month, and has no team cap. Florida Travel League does not allow pre or post bowling. The league offers several ways for handicap and scratch bowlers to win big through brackets and sidepots. So grab your gear and bring your game!
1. This league known as The Florida Travel League (FTL) is a Managed League, that will consist of 4 team members. A team may add 2 permanent sub bowlers to their roster. The Sponsor Fee per team each season is $100.
2. There will be 10 bowling sessions, beginning on August 17, 2024, and ending on May 17, 2025. The league will bowl on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 12:30pm with the exception of November and January sessions. This league will be sanctioned through USBC. All USBC sanction cards must be paid on the first league meeting date on August 17, 2024 if not previously paid through another league.
3. The Florida Travel League is a Managed League, with the following officers:

4. The Florida Travel League is a GUARANTEED LINEAGE LEAGUE. In the event of absence, the bowler is required to pay league fees in full upon return. The league bowling fees are $40 per month per bowler. The bowler will be responsible for paying for nine (9) months of league fees. The league will absorb the bowling fees for the last month (May). The league will not allow for arrears. Teams will be responsible for paying $40 for any vacancy spot(s) on your roster until filled with permanent bowler.
5. A bowler will not be permitted to go more than 1 month without paying all monies owed. On the 2nd consecutive absence without payment a vacancy score of 150 will be used for that team members spot.
6. If for any reason a check is returned to the league a $38 NSF fee plus the amount of the check must be paid before the member will be eligible to bowl. The member will not be allowed to write checks for the remainder of the season unless bank error can be proven.
7. The last month of bowling fees must be paid on or before January 18, 2025, or the individual will not be eligible to bowl.
8. In accordance with USBC rule number 121a, a member withdrawing from the league must give two weeks’ notice along with cause for resigning from the league. It will be to the team’s discretion to divide prize fund monies between the resigning bowler and the replacement bowler. If a bowler does not give notice and leaves the league, then in accordance with USBC rule 121a (2) all prize fund monies for that individual(s) will be forfeited. The team will be responsible for any outstanding fess that are due for
vacancies.
9. There is no team cap for this league. Individual handicap will be 90% of 220. Bowlers returning to Florida Travel League from the previous season will return with their ending average. New bowlers to FTL will use the bowlers highest USBC book average from 2023-2024 as stated on Bowl.com to include summer averages. A bowler without an average will establish their average after bowling the first 4 games. Entering averages will be used for the first 4 games (1 session). A vacancy score of 150 shall be used for any vacancy. FTL will enforce te 10 pin drop rule for the season.
10. Two (2) members of the team’s permanent roster shall constitute a legal line up. A team must have a legal line up at the start of league play otherwise game(s) are forfeited until a legal line up has been established.
11. FTL will have (1) Position Round. Position round will be on May 17, 2025.
12. A tardy bowler may enter the game provided the third (3rd) frame has not been COMPLETED by both teams. The bowler will be allowed to make up the missed frames.
13. FTL point system will be on a 25 point Petersen Point System. The 25 points will be achieved in the following manner. (1) points per handicap game for bowler match play (16 points max), (2) points for each handicap total per game (8 points max), and (1) point for total handicap series. Your monthly line up with the Petersen Point System will be from lowest average to highest. If you are using a permanent sub bowler then they will fall on the roster according to their average. A bowler must bowl within 10 pins of their average if facing an absent bowler during match play to receive match points. If the bowler does not come within 10 points of their average, no match points will be awarded. An absent bowler's blind score can not be configured for match play points. A team bowling a vacancy must bowl within 40 pins of their team’s current scratch average to win the series point. No pre or post bowls will be permitted.
14. In the event you have an absent bowler and none of your permanent subs are available to fill in for the absent bowler then the team must use your absent bowler’s average minus ten pins in computing scores.
15. In the event of a tie (win/loss) for FIRST PLACE ONLY a 10 frame roll off will commence immediately after league play to decide the overall winner. All other will/loss ties will be determined by handicap pin count.
16. If any of the bylaws are in conflict with USBC rules, then USBC rule will be applied.
